Unfortunately, Paste doesn't work without the command line (I assume you are trying to use Character Mode). I'll add that to the wish list for a future version.

Does %clip not contain anything if the command line is gone?
I admit I didn't change over to character mode for testing. |

The %clip will contain whatever is in the clipboard. So yes, your paste menu option will still work without the command line. I was just talking about the Ctrl-V paste command or the Edit/Paste menu options...they only work in the command line.

Thanks for the help on this, I got it mostly working like I wanted it to with %clip, so I can live without Ctrl-V and the menu options
