[2.18] %names |
Does not contain the names of player made child windows as the predefined variables definitions page would suggest
the pipe '|' symbol is still added, but it appears to add a null value instead of the name |

Confirmed. The following code at the command line (in an empty session):
| Code: |
#show %names
#win foo
#show %names
#win bar
#show %names |
produces
| Code: |
untitled
untitled|
untitled|| |
in addition to creating the two child windows. |

I think this one is somewhere on Zugg's list since I remember reporting it. Similarly when you open a session with multiple windows they do not get added to %names. If I remember right %names will contain 'mainWindow|' no matter how many windows get opened during the intial session load.
It is possible that I saw it, crashed CMud, and reported the crash. Then imagined I reported %names as well. I know I noticed it being wrong quite a few versions ago (like 2.13 or so). |

There's also something weird with windows in other packages. I haven't built a test case yet, but I tried opening a package containing two windows into my untitled session (immediately after my post above), and the %names variable then held 'untitled|||Info|Dbg'. However, I later opened my regular session (which contained the same package), and %names held 'Ichiro' - not even the '|'s.

I recall it as well. I just figured it was on Zugg hydra-like list of bugs and feature requests. He smashes an obscure bug, we find an even more obscure one. He smashes that one, we put in a feature request. He gives us the feature request, we find an obscure.
Thanks Zugg for being a glutton for punishment. |

I'll put this back on my long, "hydra-like" bug list ;)
