problem with french directions |
Hi, I'm french and i'm playing a french mud. I'm trying your software.
I would like to use paths and the mapper but it seems impossible with french directions.
In french
north is "nord"
west is "ouest"
south is "sud"
east is "est"
How can i change the software to know that there is no more north but nord, no more west but ouest,...
by the way north-east is nord-est, north-west is nord-ouest (and is abbreviated to "no" in french not to "nw")
and the opposite of est is ouest
and the opposite of nord is sud
the opposite of nord-ouest is sud-est and so on
How can i make those changes? Will it work with the mapper ?
I wish you can tell me a precise guideline to make those changes. I hope they can be made.
Thanks for your answer, sudin |

The settings that control this are located in in the class System|Directions and System|DirectionDiag. I would suggest the easiest way to handle it is to copy the settings there into another class, then check the Remove this Inherrited class for each of the originals. Then you can edit the #DIRECTION settings without getting override messages for each one.

So i've tried it. And here a problem with paths
If i make this path :
1no1ne1se1so (1 nord-ouest 1 nord-est 1 sud-est 1 sud-ouest)
This is interpretated only as : nord ouest nord est sud est sud ouest.
The software does not interpret no as nord-ouest. It divides it in nord and ouest. Can you help me ? Thanks
EDIT : Ok done with that problem. The solution is to use the letters attributed to DirectionsDiag
so for example no = j
so
1 no 1 ne 1 se 1 so = (in fact) jklm
One prob solved :) |
