Fonts error |
Today my usual font inexplicably lost the will to live. Earlier today it was working just fine then suddenly when I opened Zmud again the font was blocky and unreadable, restarting didn't fix it and I really can't be bothered to do a fresh install of XP right now. Never encountered anything like this before, can anyone help?
What it should look like (archive image):

Thank you! |

That's a very strange phenomenon. I've only been on these forums for about 18 months, but I've never seen anything like that. Does it affect any other apps, or just zMUD? Have you tried reinstalling zMUD (perhaps with your .mud files and whatnot moved first)?
What font is that, by the way? |

I've never seen anything like that either? I'd check if the font file (wherever it is on your PC) is still there and working? Many apps when the assigned font is available will default to the next one with the closest name (based on ASCII character values). The font you show looks like a warped system font. But it's hard to tell.
So check to see if you still have the font and that it's visible on other apps like MS Word.
You can also double check font size, your DPI settings or changes something the ClearType setting. |

I think Tech correct here, what seems to be happening is the font (Terminal) is defaulting to a different script of that font, Hangul, which can't display correctly as a low size, 9. Where it was previously set up to use OEM/DOS. Strange thing is it seems to work just fine with every other program, re-installing doesn't seem to fix anything either.
The font file seem to be either MS-DOS CP 437 (app932.fon) or MS-DOS CP 949 (app949.fon), I'll try and get someone to send me these again and see if it helps.
EDIT: Reinstalled using all the appXXX.fon files from http://web.mit.edu/cktruong/Public/FONTS/ and it's done the trick. Cheers for your help folks. |
