need help, plz |
Hello!
I've changed my mud connector to zMUD from a simple one, but I got frustrated.
When I connected, it shows me (a dragon - originally with colors, but no colors in zMUD):
Code: |
05F _ __,----'~~~~`-----.
06F . . `//====- ____,
07F -. \_|// . /||\ `~~~~`---.___./
14F ______-==. _-~o `\/ ||| \ _,'`
09F __,--' ,=='||\=_ ;_,_,/ _-'|- |`\ \ ,'
10F _-' ,=' | \`. '',/~7 /- / || `\. /
11F .' ,' | \ \_ " / /- / || \ /
12F / _____ / | \.`-_/ /|- _/ ,|| \ /
13F,-' `-|--'~~`--_ \ `==-/ `| \'--===-' _/`
14F ' `-| /| )-'\~' _,--"'
15F '-~^\_/ | | `\_ ,^ /\
/ \ \__ \/~ `\__
14F _,-' _/'\ ,-'~____-'`-/ ``===\
12F211.115.213.228 7000 ((->/' \|||' `. `\. , _||
11F \_ `\ `~---|__i__i__\--~'_/
03F 10F __-^-_ `) \-.______________,-~'
03F 09F ///,-'~`__--^- |-------~~~~^'
03F 03F ///,--~`-\
0G7F 11F |
but I have no idea with those "03F, 11F..." things. How can I get rid of those codes and bring all colors back?
Please, help me!!
Edit: Vijilante-added some code tags to better enjoy the ascii art. |

Was practically every line of the dragon a different color with whatever client you were using before? Is there any way you can describe what the correct colors should be?

Every line of the dragon was a different color, I think 05F means magenta, 06F brown, 07F gray, 14F yellow, 09F bright blue, 10F bright green, 11F bright cyan, 12F red, 13F bright magenta, 15F white, 03F cyan.

Ok, there is a certain logic here that I can follow. I would need the address of the mud for some online testing to determine what can be done. My intial reaction is that the admins of the mud really need to be told that they need to read up on telnet negotions and vt102 codes, and need to fix it. Please give me the address for testing.

Alright. Shouldn't take me too long. Half an hour or so.

I ran some low level traces on what they are sending and am seeing that they are using vt100 screen positioning and color codes already. Those nnF codes are also being sent as an extension to the vt100 codes. zMud is displaying them because they are not valid which is the right behavior. I would really strongly suggest that you talk to the mud admins about correcting the flaws in thier coding.
I can produce a trigger to convert thier extra codes in proper ones, but it may result in some data loss or bad displays. Also it will take me quite a while to get it right enough to minimize those possibilities, especially since I really need to sleep. |
