I'm not sure what you mean by "pages" or "forums" in this case - those aren't words we normally use to describe anything CMUD does. Perhaps screenshots would help you explain what you mean? If you take some, put rings round the stuff you mean with mspaint, and then upload them to imageshack, we might better understand what you're after.

It is pretty vague, isn't it... My apologies.
Let's see if I can pull off an example, it'll take less time than for me to figure out how to get a screenshot. Pretend this is a MUSH, or MUD, or whatever, and this is what you see on the screen:
Bob is making eggs for breakfast. "Anyone hungry?"
[Public] Jane says "Has anyone seen Joe today?"
Velma pages: "How's the new puppy?"
Now, I would like all of those to come up on my display screen in different colors. That way, when there's a lot of chatter I can easily separate in game, pages, and [Public]. Is that a little better? |

If your MUD does not allow you to change the colors internally you could trigger each type of communication.
Code: |
#TRIGGER {^~[Public~] %w says "*"} {#CO white}
#TRIGGER {^%w pages: "*"} {#CO blue} |
I'm not sure how you'd trigger the example I haven't touched on. I'd assume it's some sort of emote, so the text can vary greatly.
Hope this helps. |

And I just type that on the command line?

Okay, I can't get that to work no matter where I type it. And believe me, I've put it places it probably wasn't meant to be.

Yep, the #trigger command creates triggers. You can also create them manually with the settings editor if you want.

But nothing's happening. I just want incoming pages to appear in a different color than the rest of the text on the screen, scratch the [Public]... And it is so not working.

What exactly is the trigger you've created, and what exact text isn't it matching?

I copy/pasted what Tech wrote up there, asked someone to page me, and that page did not come up as blue. I even tried changing the color name. Nadda.

I just tested this and it worked just fine for me.
Couple of questions. What version of CMUD are you running? When you go to you settings editor do you see the two triggers? Are they enabled? How many windows do you have? Are you triggers in the same window where you're receiving the text? |

What was the problem, if you don't mind me asking? In case someone has the same issues in the future.
