[2.17 Pro] Minor - Issues with package tree when dragging and dropping |
I wanted to move some modules from my main "Lusternia" package out to a package of their own, to make them into a distributable form. I had about a dozen modules in my main package. I created a new package and gave it a name (not the same as any of my modules), then I dragged and dropped two modules onto the new package tab. It took a little while to transfer all the settings, but I didn't mind the wait because there were lots of things to be moved. When I looked at the new package, I saw its main module was the parent node of the two I had just dropped in the package. I found this odd because all modules had been only root nodes before, but I figured maybe I just never tried to make one module inside another and it's a feature. However, when I loaded the package on my next time running CMUD, I saw that the three modules were all root nodes.
Also, I was expecting that I could right-click the module and use the "Move to" or "Copy to" options to get them into the new package without using drag-and-drop, but the options were disabled. Is this not how they're intended to be used then? |

Modules and windows are always root nodes. Being able to make them not so is definitely a bug - a few versions back there were a couple of bugs that could do this, so Zugg added some code that fixes packages with this problem, moving non-root windows and modules back into the root. It's probably that that fixed your package.

Probably, but this is still being caused in the first place, so it's a bug to be reported. I didn't use any old packages with 2.17, either. Completely clean install with fresh packages built from text scripts.

I do still have a bug in my bug list about moving multiple modules to another package, so this might be the same issue. Till this is fixed, tell people to only drag/drop one module at a time.
