Speedwalk problems |
I've mudded for almost 15 years now, and have used the fast walk in zmud for years. I've recently returned to mudding after a 6 year hiatus, and now I seem to be having some fast walk issues. I've tried both zmud and cmud (running XP) to see if it happens in both. I record a fast walk, recall to my starting point, then try to walk the fast walk to make sure it works. Once I go one space, I get about 15 seconds of lag time, then get disconnected from my mud every time. No one else on my mud seems to be having this problem, and many are running zmud. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your MUD is kicking you for queueing too many commands. Are you sure the other people are using the fast walk option and not the slow or safe walk modes?

Also check for updated drivers for your ethernet card. This used to be a very common problem when XP first came out.
