Easy Session ID's Tutorial - CMUD 1.34 and Up! Also makes them use seperate pkgs |
Hopefully Zugg stickies this answer to one of the most commonly asked questions of new users.
This will set up your characters in CMUD to use their name as a session ID and to have unique settings folder and files.
When CMUD opens the Sessions window comes up
Click New Session
Optionally Click Select from MUD list OR type in manually: <mud address> <port>
Put the character's name as the "Title"
Click Edit session
Put the character's name as the ID
Click Save session.
Now Connect using that (make one for each character) and you should be able to fully utilize session IDs and all the things it provides.
Try it, sit on one character (ie. I'm on Erian) and send a command to another window using session ID, like this:
:saerith:chat Hi!
Will make Saerith perform that command.
Now its setup. CMUD handles Session IDs differently than zMUD, so you'll need to read up in the help files.
Most notably, in 1.34 :chat Hi! will no longer send it to all windows. Zugg might have fixed this in the beta by now, but I didn't look.
Also you can have different characters for scripts and command line (thats what I read anyways, someone correct me if I'm wrong). |
