Session Window Gray 1.34 AND 2.13 RC1 |
I've tried this package in both 1.34 and the new 2.13 RC1.
It brings up just a gray screen. All other open sessions are blocked behind it, and I cannot switch to them.
I have no idea what caused it. 1.34 crashed while I was working on another package that is not
a part of this session, and when I restarted it was like this. I tried 2.13 hoping that the new package
fixing code would take care of it, however it did not. I cannot even use the window menu to change
to the other session windows. |

Most likely the problem is in the layout file related to the session. You can do one of 3 things to check this, and I suggest them in this order:
1. rename the associated .xly file. This allows that if you find I am wrong you can put it back and you will have lost nothing.
2. edit the session, turn off the use layout option. This will keep the layout from loading and should keep it from being saved. Again you can check to see if it is the problem, if it is then you will have to take extra steps to fix it.
3. hold down shift and click the open offline for your session. This causes the layout to not be loaded, but will save a new layout. I would suggest trying one of the other options first as they provide a diagnostic without necessarily causing you to rebuild your entire layout. |

Try the SHIFT trick. If that doesn't work, delete the .xly and .tbz files associated with the session (you shouldn't have to, though, since SHIFT trick should work).
SHIFT trick -- while holding the SHIFT key down, open up your session via Connect or Offline Mode buttons. |

Thats exactly what it was.
Fixed it in seconds flat compared to my 2 hours of frustration when I posted this. |
