Zmud Background |
I was just toying around with preferences, specifically background colors and I was wondering if there is a way to get an image file as a background? If any of you have played achaea, and used nexus then you've seen the little brick wall that they had in the background. Well I got an image off the internet and rendered it with lighting effects on photoshop, and saved it as a jpeg (it won't save as a .col for zmud), but it doesn't load the image when I try. Can I get some help here?
Using latest version of zMUD, Windows Vista (it still works fine, nothing's changed), other necessary info can be given upon request, |

The concept of putting an immage in the background was toyed with in a few older versions. It was decided that it made the text harder to see, and made the scrolling slightly slower. There is no actual capability to put an image down as the background.

Actually, it made text scrolling *significantly* slower. Like by a factor of 3-5! In any case, as Vijilante mentioned, there are no plans to add this in the future since high performance is usually one of the main reasons people use zMUD/CMUD. Nexus can do it because in a slow Java-based client, performance doesn't matter as much to them. |
