Alias and Macros

What are alises useful for and what are macros useful for? They are kind of the same in some ways to me. Why use an alias when I can just use a macro? Can I use them together?

You can call an alias from within other scripts (including macros). You can't do that with macros. You can also give aliases parameters, which you can't with macros.

Also, one prevents you from easily sending lines starting with a certain word, and one prevents you from using a particular keyboard shortcut for something else. You can also potentially have many more aliases than you can macros.

I personally use aliases for everything, but I then have macros for aliases that I use often (PvE attacks, common PvP combos, healing items and spells).
