[2.09] Multiple crashes with XML import |
I performed a test on how good CMUD now at export/import with xml files.
I have 2 xml files of my primary session to test on: 1 from 2.06 and 1 from 2.09
While importing settings itself was flawless, further arrangement of imported windows caused several crashes and 1 hang.
I've sent a report to Zugg on crash with 1 of 2 main windows (session and imported) still showing on screen after deletion and a report on 100% CPU hang while trying to move _all_ settings from imported main window to session main window.
Several other crashes I failed to reproduce, these includes:
-EListError : List does not allow duplicates
-kbmMemTable : GetInt32 access violation
-PrefDat : PrefRec.GetModuleNum access violation
-PARENT : TParentForm.UpdateDefClass access violation
I guess that there is 1 bug with undetermined consequences rather than multiple bugs. I give up for now to figure out what happening there and I doubt I'll have time to do it till Monday. So if anyone can add something on this I will be glad to hear you thoughts. |

I would need the actual XML file, along with more detailed instructions to reproduce this. I need to know what "further arrangment" you are doing that causes the crash and hang.
And yes, once you get one crash, then any other crashes after that are pretty meaningless. |

Well, you have my xml file now, but, as I wrote, I failed to reproduce all those bugs listed above and succeeded only on 2 of them (both reported). I restart CMUD after each error message, so that errors I received not one after another but one by one in each CMUD run. The only thing I can add that first bug (with EList) was caused by corrupted layout file and was resolved by loading test session with Shift key pressed. That one was weird because it crashed CMUD on any child window movement.
Under "further arrangement" I understand "getting to the cloned session the look of original one", i.e. child windows arrangement, removing cmd lines, status bars and "use network connection" attributes from them, placing the toolbars to proper edge of the screen, removing one of two main windows (one for new session and one from the xml), moving settings if necessary... I've got got all of these errors in the middle of such an activity. |
