CMUD v2.03 Beta and CMUDPro released!

I have released the 2.03 BETA version of CMUD. I have also released the 2.03 BETA version of CMUDPro (CMUD with SSH support).

This version fixes many of the new bugs in v2.02. Please see the Version History for details on the bugs that were fixed.

CMUDPro is a completely separate download, and also has a separate license. It has it's own 30-day free trial. I am offering a good discount for a limited time for existing CMUD users. If you bought CMUD and want to upgrade to CMUD Pro, log into your store account at https://www.zuggsoft.com/store (If you forgot your password, use the Recover Password link on that page). Once you are logged in, simply add CMUDPro to your shopping cart. It should show a discount of $30 with a total price of $9.95.

You can also buy CMUDPro separately for $39.95 if you don't already have CMUD. The price of CMUDPro (and the upgrade) will increase when the public version is released. So take advantage of this discount while you can.

To Repeat: YOUR CMUD LICENSE WILL NOT WORK FOR CMUDPRO! You need a separate CMUD Pro license. The reason it's a separate product is to keep the price of the regular version of CMUD low for people who don't care about SSH support. SSH support is more of a business feature. Once CMUDPro SSH has been fully tested and the public version of CMUDPro is released, then I'll also release a business-oriented Telnet/SSH product called TeSSH that will be less expensive than CMUDPro but will strip out all of the MUD-related stuff (mapper, MUD list, speedwalking, etc).

In addition to the SSH Support, CMUDPro also enables the zMapper COM-based scripting plugin, even if you don't own zMapper. This allows you to view zMapper-enhanced maps within CMUDPro without zMapper, and allows you to use all of the COM-based scripting that is documented in the zMapper help file.

As always, be sure to CREATE A NEW POST to report a bug in this version. Be sure to put the version number in your post subject, like [2.03] and be sure to mention what version of Windows you are using. Please give as much information about the bug as possible. The easier it is to reproduce, the quicker it will get fixed. If you get a crash, be sure and send the crash dump report so that I can collect as much information on crashes as possible.

We are going to use the same forums for both CMUD and CMUDPro. So if you report a bug that is specific to the SSH part of CMUDPro, be sure and put CMUDPro in the subject of the post.

Hmm... mine's not showing the discount at the checkout page when I select my method of payment. Will it show up later down the road?

No, if it doesn't show the discount, do not continue with the checkout. You will end up getting charged the full amount.

Send me an email to sales@zuggsoft.com with your store login email and password and I'll log into your account to see why the discount isn't being applied. I haven't used the discount system since the zMUD discounts last year, so there might be a problem with it still.

Nevermind, I think it is fixed now. Try logging in again and see if you get the discount now.

It charged me $9.95 as it should, so it appears to be working okay.

Edit: And that was confirmed on my bank's side of things not just checkout.

That did it, thanks Zugg :)

Edit: It seems ot say I was billed $39.95 on the receipt, not sure if I was billed that much or not yet.. I'll have to wait I suppose.

If it had 39.95 on the receipt, then that's what it charged. Send me an email at sales@zuggsoft.com with your Order ID and I'll do a refund for the difference.

Did the shopping cart show the correct discounted price before you checked out? If it showed the discount in the shopping cart, then it should have charged that proper amount. Maybe the shopping cart wasn't cleared from the first order where it didn't show the discount?

Yeah, I cleared cookies to be sure it wasn't a session issue, but it's possible it still persisted. Before I checked out it DID show $9.95 properly, when I got the receipt it said $39.95. I'll send you the email, thanks for the quick assistance and feedback.

If anyone else runs into this same problem, send me a copy of your email receipt to the sales@zuggsoft.com account. I'm not going to be in the office this weekend, and so I won't be able to process the refunds until Monday.

I think it's worth mentionning that there are a number of other new features in v2.03!

Special mention I think should go to:
Quote:
%iconstate function to set/return the current application icon state (normal, green, red, yellow)
More complete ATCP support
MULTILINE attribute to user-defined MXP tags. MULTILINE tags can span multiple lines even in OPEN MXP mode [Useful for XML MUDs]
Support for the ^ character at the start of an MXP trigger pattern to only match tags that start at the beginning of the line [Useful for XML MUDs]
And lots of other MXP tweaks/fixes.

A very impressive list of changes for a single week since the last version, Zugg! Very Happy Now we had better get on and test them...

Uh, hang on, let me get my foot out of my mouth here.
Sorry.
I mis read and thought that Cmud 2.0 would be a $30 upgrade. Yeah, my fault, I mis-read. Sorry Zugg.

[original text below]
So, let me get this straight - I paid for CMud... which never got out of Beta.
But now there's CMud 2... AKA CMud Pro, so I can buy another beta program. Hey - what about finishing CMud? When is that happening? Or is the new business model goignt obe "Do 30 beta releases, then tell everyone to buy version N+1"?

CMUD 2 (as in version 2) is not the same product as CMUD Pro. CMUD Pro adds several advanced features to CMUD, enabling the zMapper extensions and adding SSH support. Other features will be added to CMUD Pro in the future.

CMUD is still being developed alongside CMUD Pro (indeed, you could see them as the same product, but Pro has more features). Also, CMUD did get out of beta - 1.34 is a public version.

CMUD 2.03 is a free upgrade for anyone who currently owns CMUD. Any 2.x version will be free for anyone who owns CMUD. You don't need to pay to upgrade to this version.
