[2.03Pro] Bell sound after input |
Running CMud Pro 2.03, every single time I input a command I'm getting the bell sound. Also, in the sessions window, any time I right click or left click I get the bell sound as well. I have sounds disabled, I have the default folder disabled, I have all of the sound files mapped to null, etc. It's driving me absolutely insane.
Has anyone else had this problem? |

I don't see this problem on any of my systems here. It sounds like Windows that is making the sound, not CMUD, but I don't know why. Is it just in CMUDPro or also in regular CMUD?

I apologize for being vague, but I swear CMud didn't do it prior to installing CMud pro, yet now my "regular" CMud is doing the same thing. I installed CMud pro to a different folder, as well as putting the session stuff in a different folder than the original, so it's all entirely independent of each other.
As a bit of an update: Restarting CMud a few times has made the bell sound stop after input, and I can't reproduce it any longer. However, clicking on any icon in the session window is still causing the bell sound. I don't know if these were related or something else. I may try to do a fresh install and see if I'm still having these problems. Considering the odd problems I've had lately that nobody else is able to produce, maybe a clean install is in order. |

Try a reboot first maybe.

Thanks for the suggestion Seb. Unfortunately, rebooting didn't help, nor did a fresh install. I'm still getting it every time I right or left click an icon in the sessions window. If I turn off the "Windows Default Beep" sound in the sounds applet, it actually causes my PC to beep instead. I've turned that off in the device manager as well so that isn't a problem, but that isn't helping to isolate the problem for you, so if you have any other suggestions I'm more than happy to entertain them.

Does it happen as soon as you start CMUD? Or do you have to do something before it starts?

Idea from somewhere unknown...Windows accessibility feature has been activated somehow?

Afraid not. I checked all of the accessibility features and none of them were enabled, but further... it didn't sound like any of them caused this to happen either. Appreciate the attempt though :)
