Slow Walking

I can't seem to get slow walking mode to work! Its supposed to autodetect the room title right? I've also tried to add a string like ^Exit to the slow walking section in preferences:scripting but the box does not save anything I commit with ok. So has anyone got slow walking to work on the CMud 1.34? If you have please share some of the techniques necessary to get it to work. Thax!

Also on another topic, the old search utility on the forum is soooo much better than this google thing we have now. I can't seem to find anything with this new search system.

First, you can still access the old search system via the Site menu at the top. The old search works better for some things, the Google search works better for other things. So that's why I still have both.

On Slow walking, are you using the mapper? Only the mapper can detect room names. So make sure the mapper is open and that it is configured properly. If the mapper cannot create new rooms in Map mode as you walk around, then it's not working well enough for slow walking.

I'll look into the problem with the Slow Walking script preferences now working. They are supposed to create triggers with the #OK command in them. So you can do it yourself with this trigger:

#TRIGGER {^Exits} {#OK}

Ok using the trigger solution I've been able to get slow walk to work. Now I've moved on to zone scripts. Lets just say I cannot rely on the map properties to get it right since there seems to be some bug which causes some of the zone scripts to flattly not work when I enter the Zone with mapper open and successfully tracking my movements. my question is where I can find these scripts saved so that I could edit them manually as the case for slow walk script.

EDIT: Damn, I can't get rid of the zone scripts now Crying or Very sad

ok, after playing around with it a bit more I think I can describe what is happening. When I set the zone script through the map properties for one zone, the script text is linked to that zone, but the trigger is linked to the next zone you enter. So if you set the zone script for zone A and the next zone you cross is Zone B, the script is linked to Zone B. But you can only edit the scrip from Zone A, so in the end you can only edit Zone B's script from Zone A (thats what happening on my end anyways). the effects are even stranger if you leave the map properties window open and walk around between zones. So considering its a bug that will be fixed, I won't be setting my zone scripts using the above workaround for now until the issue is fixed.
