Mapping exit (othercommand) issues

The mud I play has a lot of odd room exits (enter, exit, lift, turbolift, etc.). So I find myself using the "other com" option a lot. The problem is, whenever I try to use one of these commands in follow mode, it surrounds the command with (< >), and the mud doesn't recognize it as a command. I get the "What?" return. How do I keep ZMud from surrounding my commands with (<these>)?

The format for the other shortcut command is
Code:
>enter turbolift>e

Try that.

is that what I put into the "other comm" field, or is that what I type into the command line?

That's what you type into the command line when you are mapping the room. Forever after, any time you use a macro or try to send the EAST/E command to the game manually, ZMud will automatically substitute the other command.

If you want to do it via the Room Properties window, navigate to the exits tab, click the appropriate directions on the compass, and in the OTHER COM field put the exact command you want to use

Just to clarify, it only makes the change when you're in the room that you were in when you entered the >whatever>whatever command, but it'll always do it when you're in that room.
