I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. Open any trigger, go to the XML tab, then in the pattern box (not the xml box) make a change to the pattern. Use the save changes button and poof, it's gone.

Also true of anything else you can change from there (eg trigger options) and for any other kind of setting, too.

Yes, this is true. When in the XML tab, the only thing you can edit is the XML text itself. When you Save Changes or switch tabs, the XML text is imported into the setting, which will overwrite any other changes that you made in the GUI. I'll see if I can figure out how to improve this so that it works better.
