pattern coloring

In the pattern box of a simple trigger the following is colored like it is correct...(only escaping the opening brackets, braces)
Code:
^~[*]~[*]~[%d~(%d)h %d~(%d)m %d~(%d)v~] (%w) ~(Leader)$

but the trigger does not fire, unless you do it like this... (escaping the opening and closing braces, and brackets)
Code:
^~[*~]~[*~]~[%d~(%d~)h %d~(%d~)m %d~(%d~)v~] (%w) ~(Leader~)$

just a problem with the coloring?

I assume it would be recommended you esacpe both opening and ending brackets/braces, but shouldn't the coloring reflect that?

What coloring are you talking about? I wasn't aware that ZMud did any pattern syntax coloring (as far as I know, the syntax pretty printer only applies to the code in the trigger, not to the pattern of that trigger).

To answer your question, though, yes, you have to escape all special characters both opening and closing.

Makena, are you talking about the pattern box in CMUD? The pattern box in Zmud does not do any coloring at all.

As for the coloring in the CMUD pattern box the color is not signifying that the pattern is correct. Only that the variables and wildcards are recognized.
