zmud 7.21 broken after MS update

System: Sony Vaio, 1GB ram, 460gb free hard drive space, dual Pentium D processors. OS is MS Win XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2
Problem: After doing an MS update (downloaded and installed several XP patches and malicious software updates, etc) zMUD (v.7.21) no longer runs. At all. When I attempt to start it, the system beeps once but no screen opens, and no errors are logged in event viewer... nothing. I removed and reinstalled zMUD with the same result (several times).
Any help is appreciated. |

Do you know the nature of the updates you installed? This sounds very strange to me and I can't even why thsi would happen.
Do you have the latest drivers? Mutliple monitors? Are you running as admin? Did you reinstall as admin? Did you try download zMUD again?
I'm largely guessing here. Did you have any other problems with zMUD? Did you try installing to a new directory? Did you reboot? |
