Problems importing my Zmud accounts |
I mud on Aardwolf. I've been trying to import my two char accounts, and have run into several problems.
1) An import error occurs on both imports - the same error: Access violation at address 00C51D5E in module 'cMUD.exe'. Read of address 0000017C.
This happens as the process bar tells me that it's "converting" my zMUD files to cMUD. If I continue the program, I can try "reconnect" and it will load up the MUD and work, however when I close the program, it gives me another error - in a different memory location. I don't have that one on hand at the moment.
Also - my buttons don't show up, although all of my other information (aliases, variables and triggers) appear to work.
2) I have two characters, each with their own account, but when I edit one of my Aardwolf characters, it also edits the other. I can't seem to separate the two. The second character was created by loading in the first characters' aliases, and so on, while in zMUD. It would have been too cumbersome to do it by hand. It's an old character, and there are hundreds upon hundreds of aliases, triggers, etc. I need to know how to keep both chars separate without having to redo each alias and trigger by hand. I can't find a way to import just aliases, or just triggers, from zMUD - I have to take the entire account, it seems.
Thanks for any help you can give me. |

Addendum to the above post: the error on close is: Access violation at address 00404E18 in module 'cMUD.exe'. Read of address 190C320B.

the buttons should be there you just have to go into:
Peferances --> User Interface --> Buttons tab
and set the toolbar positions |

1) Sounds like your zMUD *.MUD files are corrupted and can't be read by CMUD. This was a common problem with zMUD settings. You might need to run zMUD and then export aliases, triggers, etc into text files, or run both zMUD and CMUD at the same time and copy/paste scripts across.
2) Select the Edit Session action in CMUD and go to the Files tab and make sure each character has it's own file name. If you have common aliases that you want to share, put them into a separate package and add that package to the list of packages loaded for each character. |
