Socks4 and Proxy support?

I'm sure some people won't like this topic but what the heck.

I'm considering getting CMUD somewhat based on ZMUDs old Socks/Proxy support, but Im running into a few snags I'd like to get answered before I buy. I'm downloading now. I plan to use the SOCKS4/5 support so that I can multi-box multiple accounts on MUDs I like that don't allow this. Sure, I might get caught and kicked but that's okay with me. The current state of MUDs today is that getting groups of players to work together is a challenge (getting 2 people of the same level even is hard), and I'd prefer to party with myself than play one character alone.

That being said, the proxy support in ZMUD didnt allow a per-character setting. So I'd have to change settings before logging in a different character (as far as I can tell). Is this something I can change in CMUD? Most MUDs can only verify my connecting machine, possibly ping the machine for some protocols (unreliable), and any account settings I've used. So I figure if I can find a couple different SOCKS/telnet proxies and scrounge up some email addresses, I'll be fine (except for the CMUD single-proxy setting). Has anyone successfully tried this? Any tips?

CMUD is going to allow per-connection SSH forwarding, which'll do your job. There are plenty of free and non-free shell suppliers out there, so you shouldn't have a problem getting enough accounts. CMUD's proxy support is the same as zMUD's.

Thanks for the reply.
Is there a timeline for "is going to"? Or does CMUD already support this?

SSH is the next feature Zugg is planning on adding, I think. I know he added some of the groundwork for it in previous versions. But it's not in yet, no.
