[1.30] customize settings toolbar
 
enabling search box to show in settings window does not keep saved.
if I restart the session, cMUD does not remember I want search box opened

Yes, that has been reported before and it already on the bug list (not that you would have any way to know that without searching hundreds of posts in the forum).

For little stuff like this, it's better to just use the Help/Send Feedback option within CMUD itself. That allows me to better track bug reports. In general, you should only post an issue to this forum if you want discussion about it, or help with workarounds (like for script problems).
