[1.26] Window orders being reset |
I have two windows within one session, Elysium and Channels
When the session is opened it tabs them as I've arranged - Elysium first, Channels second
The problem is that they're in alphabetical order in the 'Window' menu. If I close Channels and then make it visible again it becomes window 2. Then I close the session and reopen it and Channels is back to window 1. Infuriating. |

you know you can click on the tabs and simply drag them across the other tabs into the order you want?

Well, I think they layout is not saved or something, so next time you start up things are back to how it was before.

Yes, this is a limitation in the current docking system when you are loading multiple windows that have network connections. CMUD currently looks for the first window in the PKG file that has a command line attached to it and uses this as the initial window with focus. I thought the docking system would save the tab order, but it looks like there is a problem with that. It's on the bug list, but honestly, this isn't a huge priority at this point since there are so many other bugs that effect more people and are more annoying.

I think there's another problem related to that initial window with focus thing - you added a prompt to prevent users from deleting the main session window, but sometimes it changes which window it thinks is the main one, meaning you can't delete windows you created but you can delete the main session window. It's quite frustrating.

Is there a way to make a window invisible then visible again? Because then I could alias it and that'd solve the problem until the docking system is fixed up. I appreciate it's a cosmetic thing so not the highest priority
