Vista Ultimate Crash |
I just installed cmud on my brand new Vista Ultimate machine (E6600, 2gb ram, evga 680i mb) and i can't open cmud. I get a crash right off the bat, indicating "Error accessing the OLE registry.". I'm thinkin a couple things. First, I selected the "my games/cmud" directory for pkg files and such. I can't seem to find this directory in vista... Second, I think i might have one bad stick of ram as I've had 4 blue screens of death so far, however as a consolation, I've removed one stick (to test which is bad) and havn't had a BSOD since (I removed that stick prior to installing cmud. )
Any help would be appreciated. |

Well... There are several posts around talking about Vista and Cmud. Not sure if any of those peeps had Ultimate or not. Seeing Ultimate in your heading I thought your computer may have exploded or something. First thing is to attempt to install it with the run as administrator option. As for your "my games/cmud" directory it is supposed to be in whatever vista calls your "my documents" folder. If you look there and cannot find it I would suggest uninstalling Cmud and Reinstalling it with the run as administrator option. Apparently being logged IN as Administrator doesn't mean much in Vista

I've seen this before on a beta build of vista on my laptop but not lately. try running it as an administrator - right-click CMUD icon, select 'Run as Administrator'
I'm on Vista Ultimate too on a far lower spec machine, not had a single problem |

I unintstalled it and reinstalled it... when i did I selected the cmud file as the save location for .pkg files. it worked. Then I uninstalled that, reinstalled, and selected the mygames/cmud option... this time it worked.. Sooooo Long and short is that it's workmng now... yay!
