Find & Replace - wishlist |
Just thought it would be really very handy to include a 'find and replace' type functionality in the Cmud settings editor much like the 'find & replace' function found in notepad or word.
I feel it would ease the transition from zmud to cmud greatly.
(Currently using Cmud 1.25)
PS: Do NOT use notepad for replacement functionality as it is unbelievably inefficient. I recommend MS word or Open Office |

I would recommend any of the great text editor's out there for such a task. I prefer Editplus (www.editplus.com), but TextPad, UltraEdit and BBEdit are also great choices.

In addition to the Find/Replace functionality, it would also be unbelievable handy to allow wildcards in the CMud search functionality.

It's possible that this sort of thing is out of the scope of CMUD since there are rather a lot of pay-for text editors with things like regex-based find-and-replace. Depends how time-consuming it is to create, I suppose, when there are many products that already do this.

Actually, this kind of stuff is planned. The editor component that I'm planning on using for scripts already supports a lot of this. But I haven't been able to promise anything until I actually decide which editor component that I'm going to use.
