[1.25] Problems editing session settings |
I completely removed 1.24, installed 1.25, and then tried to tweak my sessions' settings a bit before opening any of them. I changed the location of my packages, so I wanted to update where my sessions were looking for them. I navigated to where the main package was for my character (using the Browse button on the Files tab) and when I selected it and confirmed in the dialog, I was surprised at the results.
After updating the filename field, I was returned to the Session tab instead of being left at the Files tab. I switched back to the Files tab and the filename that was stored there was without a directory and had only the first 17 characters or so of the (rather long) filename. Testing with other long package names had the exact same result. If I shortened the filename, it would load the package properly (and not default to loading untitled.pkg on opening my session).
The window switches to the Session tab all on its own sometimes, it seems. I edit a session, switch to the Files tab, and do nothing but wait. It's probably caused by a timer I have setup that sends #CR every minute (because my home router times me out when I'm developing code on my test server and just idling for a while).
I have also noticed that my changes to my session settings are saved without using the "Save changes" option. I tested the filename selection with a "dummy" long package name and then hit "Cancel changes." Returning to look at the session details, however, I noticed that the session was saved with the wrong filename. |

Ah, if I didn't post about this in the past I am sorry, *thought I had*, but the way I worked around this was to Make a HARD-LINK, otherwise known as a Junction in windows,to the directory I wanted the files to be in. I placed the hard link in the root of c:. This isn't something I suggest most users do but I'm sure you can figure it out Larkin.

Windows XP doesn't have Junctions, as far as I know. ;)
This was just a simple matter of the filename itself being too long for me, regardless of the path to the file. Using the same full path and a shortened filename fixed the problem for me. It's a little odd to me because the other packages have even longer names (same path) and they load without any problem. |

It does, but it is hard to do. Like I said I did it. And it DOES matter how long the path is. The program is accessing the filename using the path and if the whole shabang is too long it messes up.
