If you have questions on the bidding process, post them here or send email to zugg@zuggsoft.com.
Bidding will end at 8:00PM EST, February 23rd, 2007. This ending time was changed from the midnight of previous years based upon feedback from European MUDs. This new ending time should accomodate MUDs in both the U.S. and Europe and be more fair to everyone. Sorry (especially to the Aussies) I couldn't think of a way to better accomodate the entire world ;)
Each year we hold an auction to determine which ten MUD icons get displayed in the initial zMUD and CMUD startup screens. This is one of the best ways to advertise a MUD since it puts your MUD icon in the face of brand new MUD players who are looking for a MUD to play. Last year, the startup icons were downloaded over 80,000 times by new MUD players.
In 2007, the top-ten icons that win the bidding process will also be added to the new CMUD client. Since every installation of CMUD will be a NEW installation, the icons will be seen by even more people that before (in the past only new installations of zMUD got the latest icons downloaded).
Last year, the top icon position went for $5000, and the tenth icon position went for $1200. Remember that in case of a tie, the earliest bid wins.
Let the bidding for 2007 begin! |
