Collecting Windows 2000 Bug Reports

I've read all of the "2000 isn't supported" stuff, but also Zugg said he'd look into it after CMud went stable, so since I would really like 2000 support I thought I'd see if I could figure out what the problem is to make it easy to fix.

So, if everyone who has access to windows 2000 and would like support for this OS could send me error reports, that would help a lot (just open the directory you installed CMud to, open the file bugreport.txt, and copy any interesting or unique ones).

All of my error messages have been like this: (first one is if I let the bug report thing close the program, second is if I keep trying to continue)

My guess just from this is that the creation call for the style either fails or correctly doesn't create a style, and then the checkstyle function ends up trying to read memory that doesn't belong to it. I wasn't able to find anything about these specific calls yet, but the OfficeXP theme appears to be fairly old (from several versions of automated docking ago: it is mentioned here http://www.automatedqa.com/products/aqdocking/whats_new_1_5.asp but there's no date stamp, unfortunately) and swears that it supports Win2k, so possibly Zugg had added something to those specific calls which is causing problems.

Alternative guess: Whatever comes directly -after- the checkstyle call, which of course I have no clue about.

Thanks for this. Keep in mind that I have modified the AQDocking stuff to use the theme engine code in CMUD, so that might be causing this problem on Windows 2000 (which doesn't have the XP theme libraries). So it's not the OfficeXP theme that is causing the problem I don't think, but probably something that I changed or something in the theme engine code that CMUD uses.

In any case, even though I'm not promising any Windows 2000 support, I'll add it to the list to see if it is something easy to fix.
