I thought I would post to beg and plea to have the #file command enhanced to allow a person to write to a directory other than the cmud direcotry.

it can already, you just need to specify the full path name of the file starting from the drive

Bleh... I tried this before... no luck... I try it after reading this post, BINGO. I think i had a parentheses problem or possibly a file path typo. Anyway, thanks for pointing this out.
