[1.24] Double click within 'Settings' window
 
If the Package Editor is not already open double clicking on a variable/alias/trigger within the Settings window, the package editor opens as expected, however it opens the 'Default Settings' instead of the variable/alias/trigger that was double clicked.

Furthermore, I have not chosen the option within the package editor to show default packages.
