Since it's only a minor annoyance rather than a critical bug, it probably won't be fixed until the new year.
That said, I'm getting some very strange results when I try to ping MUDs with that command - -90ms, 500ms, 20ms. |

Also keep in mind than many ISPs and routers block ICMP ping messages these days because of denial-of-service attacks.
