I want to just send a character, without a carriage return. |
I am not sure where to look for this in the help files. I want to be able to send just a character, without a carriage return. The problem I am having is that there is a set of menus that respond to single letters, without carriage returns, and carriage return will select the default action (which is commonly quit, or next menu)
To get around this, I can type multiple commands one after the other, but it is annoying. (For example if I need to look (L) then go home(H) then buy something(B) I have to type "LHB" in. And predict where sending a carriage return will mess me up.)
Thanks in advance! |

There are two options, one is enable Character Mode in the Preferences under General|Emulation. This will make it so that you can click in the output area and each character will be sent as you type it and your cursor will appear in there. The second option would be use #SENDPROMPT. This would work best for scripted portions and could be used with macros for commonly accessed menus. To use it directly with what you type in the command line would tend to cause you to have to hit enter frequently.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. While I could have used telnet, there are many things that I can do with Zmud. I haven't tried it yet, but I will.
