[1.15] Simutronics - DragonRealms Help Please |
Having been away from mudding for a while (about 4 years) i decided to start playing DragonRealms (seeing as Dragon's Gate is down).
I started with Simu's Stormfront client, but i really wanted the power of zMUD (cMUD) back.
So here i am, having paid for cMUD (I dont see the point of using zMUD when cMUD is clearly better and it means i only have to relearn the newer better stuff)
So.. onto my actual problem:
Hit points.
As small as this issue tends to be in most games (::cough::) i cant seem to get them detected/displayed/working/whatever in DR.
Now i know about GSL tags, and how to get their values in cMUD (%gsl.x or %gsl(x))
BUT.. no matter which GSL Client i connect with (zMUD, Wizard etc..) there is no HP code. (At least no readily identifiable one).
I have done some forum searches and found out that the GSL tag i want is x. But that is not listed in prefs, Simutronics, values tab.
In the variables section it allows me to name some variables that i want to have my HP stored into, but i have tried #SHOWing them, putting them on the Status Bar, in the Status Window and nothing. I looked for the System|GSL folder, but to no avail. I tried creating the variables with the names specified in the prefs, but they just sit on the value i gave them at creation.
I know that i can use Stormfront in the GSL client thing to get Stormfront functionality. However, until the #PSUB bug is fixed and i am back used to using cMUD again i dont feel up to tackling all the XML style tags and Subbing needed to make it human readable.
But other than Stormfront, how can i get to see my hp/mana/ftg and other bits in cMUD.
Thanks for reading

The functionality is only half-working. ZMud (and I suppose CMud as I don't think Zugg made any changes to the MXP support yet) doesn't at all support the <tag/> syntax that about half of the XML datastream consists of. The sole issue is the trailing /, which apparently denotes an EMPTY-style tag. I think I explained this to you already in a private message.
As for the hitpoints and stuff, that doesn't exist in DR. The only tag-based way to get the specific information is via the Stormfront mode. You can try to compensate with a full range of triggers and other settings, but that's not going to be reliable enough to toe any lines. |

Well that explains it then. If there are no hps, there clearly cant be any to detect.
Simple eh?
