Can Button Panels be moved?

I can't seem to figure out how to make a vertical button panel down the right hand side... is it even possible? I can't seem to figure out how to put a panel down the right hand edge. I'm pretty sure I recall doing this in zMud... but it's been a while, I could be wrong.

Go into your Preferences and in the User Interface section, select the Buttons tab. This allows you to set the position of the 4 button bars within your MUD window. Then, when defining your buttons, in the Options tab there is an option to set which bar number the button should appear on. This is pretty much the same way as it worked in zMUD.

Gotit, I missed the buttons tab in preferences. I thought it was somewhere, but I forgot where to look. I was hunting for a programmatic option to change it, or a way to drag it, since that's how Windows can be manipulated.

No problem. It *is* in a different place than it was in zMUD, so it's understandable.

You will never be able to drag these "internal" button bars. However, you can do stuff with the new toolbar system. It still needs some improvement, but whenever you create a button or menu item in CMUD, an item gets added to the Customize menu for the main toolbar system.

Now, this main toolbar system doesn't let you control stuff like the button size and position. And it can't display gauges or multistate buttons yet. But for basic buttons and menu options, it works pretty well. This allows you to right-click on a toolbar, select Customize, then drag one of your custom buttons or menus onto a toolbar. You can create as many new toolbars as you want, and you can drag them to all sorts of different locations in your screen layout (or even make them floating). And these toolbar changes are saved with your layout.

This allows you to add stuff to the main menu, main toolbar, or even your command line toolbar.

So it's a tradeoff between some of the features of the "old" zMUD button style, and the new toolbar system in CMUD. The new toolbars offer some advantages, but lack some of the options of zMUD buttons. But since you can do it both ways if you want, it makes CMUD that much more flexible.

I expect to improve the new toolbar options, add gauges, etc, as CMUD is developed. Where-as the "old-style" zMUD compatible buttons will probably not be changed very much at all.
