Upgrading Version Suggestion |
Turn off the always on top option for the downloading window... I like to multitask, and this window always ends up in an irritating place and I cant hide it or move it or anything.

Unfortunately, if it's not on top then Windows hides it behind other windows and people can't tell if the upgrade worked or not. I'll see if I can add a way to move the window or something in the future.

I actually get some very strange behaviour in CMUD while it's downloading an update. The CMUD window becomes unresponsive and starts leaving ghosts when windows are dragged in front of it. Kinda hard to describe... it happens all the time in CMUD normally, it's just that when you stop dragging, the ghosts disappear. Here's an example that I took after installing CMUD 1.14 again to show the next part of the error. It happens exactly the same way in CMUD 1.15 (and I don't see it at as a problem).
When it's downloading an update, though, the ghosts don't disappear - the "downloading update" window with the progress bar stays on top of the ghosts, but if you move the mouse over CMUD, the cursor changes into the hourglass and clicking obviously does nothing, not even bringing CMUD to the front. The screenshot of this didn't come out, but there it is anyway. What I really saw after dragging the FX window all over the CMUD one was a load of ghosts, same as the old screenshot, with the download progress bar on top. This has happened with every other update I've done of CMUD so far, too.
PS. The extra icon on the title bar of Firefox there is provided by UltraMon, but the icons don't display properly in CMUD - they appear BEHIND the normal icons, which can be pretty frustrating as I'm sure you can imagine. I've turned them off for CMUD but I just thought I'd mention it in case it's a CMUD problem rather than an UltraMon one. |

This kind of stuff usually happens when Windows is so busy that it doesn't have time to update/repaint the windows. So my guess is that for some reason it's too busy downloading the update to repaint the window. It doesn't seem to happen on my system here. Anyone else seeing this?

If the specs of my computer are relevant (with Windows being too busy) it's an Athlon 64 x2 4400+ and 2gb of ram. Seems strange really that windows would be too busy.
