[1.12] Trigger-corrupter (partially documented) + Minor bugs |
For some reason, my triggers seem to occasionally get eaten while working with the package editor. I can't track it down entirely and replicate it, but I have determined a couple of things.
The trigger idname, the one that exports to XML as <idname> is 63 characters max. Somehow trigger patterns are getting truncated to that 63 character maximum length, and their values are getting wiped. This seems to occur when the package editor ends up in the compiled code part of the trigger viewer, and you click around.
Clicking on a class or other trigger or whatever will sometimes superimpose the 63 string shortname onto that entry in the treeview, and then it disappears after a second. Shortly after this occurs the trigger is wiped.
This is the best I can do but it's late and I have to get to sleep for an early flight tomorrow. I'll try and pinit down some more in a few days if it hasn't been quashed.
A couple of other random bugs:
Stuff exported to XML cannot be reimported. At least not fully or successfully.
Export a series of aliases to XML
Delete aliases
Import XML
Type #al. You'll see the alias definitions echoed. Open the package explorer, they will not be there. This is also true of triggers and such.
Closing and reopening the session will clear #al and such, and the aliases will no longer echo.
The scroll lock key no longer toggles split screen. |

The name shown in the Tree view is always the ID Name (the shortened pattern). But it sounds like maybe it's the background updating that is causing these problems. It updates the settings editor every second, and it sounds like it's happening while editing and causing things to get corrupted. This is a major issue that I'm looking into for the next version.
The import bug is already on the bug list and should be fixed in one of the next couple of versions.
The scroll lock key no longer is used for toggling the split screen. Use Ctrl-Z, or use the new support for the PgUp and PgDn keys. |
