Mapping Issues (GS4) |
I just downloaded the CMUD client today to try it out and it looks really good!
First off..
If I create a new room in the mapper, then type look, it doesnt update the room title/desc/etc.
If I move once to the west, it creates the new room (with all the correct title/desc/etc), but thinks the exit I came from was a doorway.
If I then move north once, it creates another accurate room.
I move south and go back into the one I created then north again, it doesnt update my room location correctly.
I hope I explained that well enough. I used auto-config alone, I created it from scratch, and customized the auto-config configuration, but this continues to happen so I'm almost positive its not my configuration.
ALSO (MINOR) when I use the auto-config, the "Finish" button has a "Next" behind it and you can't actually make out what it says.
Thanks guys and keep up the good work Zugg. |

The mapper in zMud 7.21 does the same thing with the first room it actually makes.
Set your starting room, go west like you wanted to.
Then edit that path to not be a doorway, and delete your starting room. Then finally return to it. The mapper will work fine then. |

I tried that but I still have the issue of it not updating what room im in. I did a little bit more testing on it and it seems to have something to do with the room name. When I delete the room name, it updates when I walk around.
Kinda odd. I'll keep testing it and post what I find out. |

The mapper in CMUD is the same as the mapper in zMUD (except for some minor user interface changes). The mapper for CMUD will be rewritten later this Spring to use a more robust database system (getting rid of the ADO/MDAC crap that makes the current mapper so unstable). At that time I will be fixing a lot of other mapper problems. You might want to wait until then to report mapper problems since it's unlikely that I'll be doing much with the current version right now.
Right now I'm more focused on the many other crash bugs in the core part of CMUD. |
