[1.09] Speedwaling. Is it broken or am i doing it wrong? |
I type in ".2s33e" instead of sending s 2 time and e 33 times like it did in zmud, it just sends the text I typed to the mud. I don't know if this is a bug or if its like the semicolon which i had to be told not to use a space after.

I've been having problems related to speedwalking myself, but more to do with the mapper tracking my movement at all. Considering it's a very similar/the same module I copied all the settings across from my zmud that would make it update when I moved, yet it doesn't. I got moderately adept at making ZMud move the map around with me, but for some reason couldn't get it to work in CMud.
I considered that this might be because there were no directions defined by the map. I created myself the direction n, pointing it to north with the dropdown box with reverse direction r. I attempted this move on the map. The command went through instantly, but when it received the room name the parser froze for a moment, seeming to have a problem with something (only about a second, but very noticeable) before kicking up an error.
Not sure I can even guess what it all means, but it's more information for you. |

One thing to check is that your CMUD mapper configuration is the same as zMUDs. I know in my case, not all of the particulars transferred over but I did have other issues as well which were later fixed. After I changed my mapper settings, everything seemed to move fine.

Select the Edit Session action and go to the Files tab. Make sure the "English Directions" package is listed there. The directions used for speedwalking were moved from the default settings package into the English Directions package to make it easier for non-english users to customize their system.
The English Directions *should* be listed in the list of packages to load by default for new sessions. But if you have been using older beta versions then it's possible that this default didn't get set in your preferences.
Also, when your session is loaded, go to Settings and then click on your main Window object at the top of the tree view and make sure the "English Directions" package is enabled for that window. There have been some reports of CMUD forgetting these settings and disabling them, which would cause the directions to stop working. |

Okay, bug time for you Zugg.
Thanks for the description here, precisely what it was doing. I mentioned in my above post there was a bug causing a popup error message, and that's still there after following what you said. The is only true if the mapper is set in Safe walking mode. Other modes don't cause errors for me, but Safe is the setting I need for my mud. It might have something to do with confirming the destination room details... as mentioned, it hangs for a moment displaying the roomname. |

The error that I described in my last post still remains in v1.10. Moving with the map configured with Safe walking bugs on possibly the room name, or something to do with confirming the step.
