[1.09] Bug/quirky behaviour -trigger creation, pattern field |
I havn't done much beta testing due to a lack of time, so I've no idea how long this has been the case, or even if it is a bug, though I assume it is.
I just tried to create a trigger. Selected the pattern from the output window. Opened setting editor. Created a class to place the trigger in. Selected 'new trigger.'
Here's where I got confused. I clicked on the pattern field. I used ctrl+V to paste the pattern to it. Nothing appeared in the field. Weird.. guess I must have cleared the clipboard. So I go back, select the pattern again from the mud output window, go back, and use ctrl+V again.
Still nothing. Okay.. odd though it might be, I guess that ctrl+V isn't being recognised in CMUD yet. Right.. I'll right-click and choose paste instead. There's no right click drop-down menu in the pattern field (though there is in the edit field). Odd.
I then delete the setting and try again. Same thing happens. Then I notice the drop-down thing on the pattern field. I click on it and I realise that ctrl+V had been working - I've pasted the pattern multiple times now. Right. I adjust this, and then click on save.
Once I've clicked on save, the text shows in the pattern field as I'd expect.
So, two problems there:
(1) Pasting doesn't display the pasted text before saving
(2) No right-click menu in the trig pattern field. |

(1) actually, it's pasting correctly, but you probably had an extra newline at the end of the text being pasted, so it pasted two lines into the pattern field and placed the cursor at the end of the second (blank) line making it look like nothing was pasted. I've got an issue on the bug list to try and force it to always show the first line of a pattern regardless of the number of lines that are pasted.
(2) I'll look into the right-click issue. Should be easy to fix. |
