Troubles with Character Code-Testing |
I have a current character in zMUD that I want to test some codes with without risking my current coding. In the zMUD startup menu, I copy the character and rename the copy "TEST." However, when I alter something in the TEST character, it saves the changes to my old character as well!
Is this effect a bug, and how can I test alterations to my character without risking my hard work? |

Make a copy of your character's folder as well and then set the folder used by your test character to the new copy.

When you are on the character select screen, click on the test character, then click on the EDIT button. In there is a tab for files. You want to set the primary file to the .mud file in the copied folder you made.

Except I didn't make the 'copied folder', because I still don't know how. :-\
So I'm still drawing blanks. |

double-click 'My Computer' on your desktop
go to C:\Program Files\zMUD (or wherever you've installed it)
Select the folder you want, right-click it and hit copy
then paste it back into the zMUD directory and you'll get a 'Copy of Folder'. Rename that to what you want (right-click, Rename) |
