View >> Preferences >> Problems

I'm having a strange problem with regards to accessing anything under the View >> Preferences sub menu. At present I am unable to get these items to open up at all or the at least that is what appears to be happening. I have tried a reinstall with fresh key, dumping my mud file to text and reimporting and suggestions from some of the resident zmud gurus on the mud I play from including checking that the windows are not openning behind my zmud via on top changes, rolling up the main zmud window etc.

I've also tried reseting the layout, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The windows are probably opening, so they're likely displaying somewhere you can't see them. I don't think that's controlled by the normal session layout, so when you reinstall zMUD you'll have to delete all the files that're still left in the zMUD directory (not the ones in the folders, just the ones in the root \zMUD\ directory) to make sure the layout for those has really gone. Have you ever used multiple monitors?

Well that is a bit of a problem considering I just used the key figuring that would fix things, and yes to the best of my knowledge I did garbage everything in the zmud directory, just retaining the mud files and ended up garbaging them as well.

and Yes I have run and am still running a dual monitor setup, just on a different computer, though I can't for the life of me get zmud to default to the non laptop primary.

Rename the zmud.ini file. It will be recreated next time you launch zMud. This file holds the window position information as well as a few global preferences.

I suggest a rename instead of a delete since that allows you to review the differences to help in rememberering any of the global preferences you changed.
