Zmud won't run, but runservice.exe/LicCtrl is enabled

Hi, I recently encountered a problem getting zmud to run. It would start up as normal, I'd see the start up screen, and then suddenly close with no error listing. It sounds like exactly the sort of thing should happen if LicCtrl is not enabled, however I am certain that the service is running. LicCtrl is enabled in the Control Panel/Services dialog in windows XP, and I can see that runservice.exe is running as a process from my task manager.

I uninstalled the licensing from zmud, requested a new license key, and tried to update to zmud 7.21. At this point I got a write error while writing to zmud.exe while trying to install zmud 7.21, and I had to abort the install. However, the next time I tried to run zmud i was prompted for a license key, so I successfully entered the new license key, at which point zmud shut down again and reverted back to the original behavior of not running.

What should I do here to get ZMUD running? Thanks!

On Windows 2k and XP press CTRL-ALT-ESC to bring up the task manager. Then click the Processes tab. Locate zMud.exe in the list and right-click on it. Select End Process from the context menu.

On all other Windows, reboot.

This problem is caused by a bad script being stuck in a loop when zMud is closed. So try launching the debugger window next time before closing zMud, hopefully you can figure out from that which of your scripts has the problem, and then correct it so you won't have to see this happen again.
