Automatic disconnect for every Mud

This began yesterday at some point as I was making a connection to a Mud. Somehow the connection will automatically disconnect from every mud, as soon as it makes the starting connection. I'm not sure what is going on. I have tried disabling all of my firewalls and nothing seems to help. I can run telnet directly with no problem, so I tend to believe it is something within Zmud. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks!
Mark

Many muds have an idle timer where if you dont do anything for a set ammount of time you are automatically booted

Might be worth looking through the ATCONNECT alias to see if there's anything that's disconnecting you. Or check any triggers that act on text that might be sent during the logon.

Does it still happen if you connect with a new mud file (one without any extra settings)?

It happens as soon as I connect, so it can't be an idle timer.

Yes, I've tried creating a brand new setup for a mud and I am immediately disconnected. time to uninstall and reinstall maybe?

could be worth trying. check the ATCONNECT aliases to be sure there's nothing odd there, then be sure to make a copy of all your settings first then uninstall, reinstall and try connecting again. If that works then move the settings back in and try again - if it stops working then you know it's the settings, if not then something else to investigate.

You don't have Norton Internet Security do you, or a similar firewall product. I'd suggest trying to shut down any firewalls too (If you have Norton I'd almost guarantee it's that)

Because you need it for text... ;)
