cannot import .zfg file for mapper

hello.
i was making a map on forgottenrealms mud. As i know, the configuration is saved in a. .zfg file. Then I had to replay an hardrive-image and so, the old cofiguration is not up-to-date anymore.

But, as I have saved the zmud folder before replaying the harddrive-image, I still have the latest config file showing the map.

So, what I did is in the mapper: import config file (.zfg). But no map is loaded anymore, there's nothing... I deleted everything (rooms etc) in the mapper (which was not up-to-date anymore anyway), and then started to import the .zfg file, but still the mapper doen't show any rooms...

Second: Ialso tried out save configs as text file. Then I write e.g. forgottenrealms.txt and save it, but such a file will not e created at all.
When I create on my own a text file, let's say test.txt and then I want to ovveride this text.txt also no success: the text.txt is just empty...

Can anyone help me, please? Is it really the .zfg file where the map is saved? Or is it the .mdb or another one?

Thanks, Ciao, Kai

The .zfg stores the configuration settings for the mapper. Such things as how to detect the rooms, any color preferences you made, etc. The map is actually stored in the .mdb. You should copy both your old .mdb and .zfg into your mud specific subdirectory, then use File|Open from the mapper window to open the .mdb. After that import the .zfg, then use File|SaveAs and match the file name to your character window's name. You may be able to skip some of this if the names already match.

Hi Vijilante. So, I made it lke you said. Running perfectly. I don not even need to import the .zfg file, it's enough to open the database.. I don't know what was running wrong before
I found out also another interessting thing: I tried to manually make a new connection : game.forgottenkingdoms.com , port 4000 .. There's always connecting problems etc
I think it is better to make NEW and then chose the right MUD from the list at the left side --> then there are no connetion problems etc.. Before I was manually typing the host and port, maybe this was also the reason why I had problems to import the map ?! who knows...
OK, Thank you again for the quick support Very Happy
