Spellchecker functionality |
i have been trying to wrangle with the spellcheck to automatically fix my abbrieviations.
Throu use of the spelling selection i can point it to have the word i want in the auto-correct menu, but no matter how many times i select it, it wont auto-correct
'smi' to 'smile' was the example i used |

I wouldn't bother using the spell checker to do that, for commonly typed long words I use tab completion.

I managed to get it so that if you type smi followed by space it automatically corrected it. I did the following.
I added the smi to smile correction by typing smi followed by space, then right clicking and choosing spelling. This opened a "Spelling" dialog box where it had 'Not Found:' smi and 'Replace With:' semi. I got rid of semi and put in smile and then pressed the 'Auto-Correct' button. I then enabled the auto correct option at "View\Preferences\General\Spelling\Auto Correct".
Now when I type smi followed by space it changes it to smile. |
