Input on how to create an auto-hunting bot thinger |
Hello!
I'm hoping to make a script that will wander about an area of the MUD i play on (even walking back and forth on a predefined path is fine) and kill things. Most things here will die in one round, or deffinitly in two, so things like life and mana are non-issues.
I already created a VERY crude version of this, but I'd like to do better. I mostly just matched the mob names to "kill mob" and randomly moved.
Things I'm thinking about: I should be able to create a list of all mobs in a room (they're always listed between the exits line and my prompt), and then subtract them as they die, so i'll know when to move - right?
Would I have to create a trigger for each mob's display name, and their death? or could i have some kind of list of names and death messages or something.
Then.. after that list is empty, i can have it call some kind of "decide which way to go now" function, right?
I dunno - does this sound like it'd work? Is there an easier way? Would you do it diffrently?
I'm still trying to get the hang of zmud's scripting engine.
(BTW: If possible, avoid the mapper. I run Linux, and everythign works perfectly but that (for now!))

Always good to have a look through the forums, there have been plenty of hunting scripts that should give you ideas on where to start.
Something like 'bot hunting', 'bot combat', 'bot script' should get you going |
