Opening an offline window

Pretty simple, how do you open a window in such a way that it's not connected? (normally the window will connect/etc, but I want occasionally to open the window without it going online).

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish. Are you connected to the MUD already, and want to create a second WINDOW? If that's the case then you want to use the #WINDOW command. It creates a new window that can be considered offline since it receives not output/input that you don't explicitly assign to it.

If you're not connected to a mud at all, i.e. you're at the character selection screen, you can simply select the MUD you want and click the Offline button (next to the connect button) to work offline. I've missed what you want to accomplish please clarify your question.

I'm not sure what you are looknig for either...buut since my question is similar here is what i am looking for.....I have 1 char that is always connected and controls about 10 other windows...that each have different chars and different triggers... i want to be able to open 1 char connected...and have 10 char windows open un connected or offline....i have tried leaveing the windows closed and have the main char open these other windows...but it seems to be a little buggy opening and closing windows all the time....and a bunch of extra triggers....if i leave all these windows open...with auto reconnect turned off...all i do is send the file reconnect to the appriate window and in connects the char...he does his business and logs off..this works perfectly...but everytime i have to restart zmud...i have to go through and select each char and push teh offline button...i guess i could just set the trigger to log all these windows on and have them all quit...but a offline control...or command would be better..

Basically we want to use #window (or #session) and have it work like the offline click from the char select screen
