Map update/Special Travel |
I have a skill in my mud called sprint.
when i SPRINT direction, it transports me instantly to the last room in a specified direction so if i do SPRINT E it will take me the max possible direction to the east untill i hit a door or there are no futher eastly directions.
any idea how i can make my map understand this by updating my current position when a sprint is done? |

Sure can. just post some output from doing this sprinting, try to include examples any sort of failures that can occur when doing it. Then I will see what can be written for it.

great. thankyou. i would like it to update the map regardless of output tho... kinda like speedwalking does. i find that just works better for me
heres a few examples
-----------
805h, 90m ef- sprint e
You look to the east and sprint away.
Along the highway.
Along the highway.
West gate of Parrius.
Next to the gate of Parrius.
Within the Courtyard of the gate.
Outside the gate on the Mariners Highway.
Inside west gate of Parrius.
The Mariner's Highway.
The Mariner's Highway by Merchant Street.
A glowing runic stave here is the first thing to catch your attention.
It is along the east-west highway that you tread, now flanked by alder trees of a bark that is russet-brown in colour. The hive of shops that exist up and down the
rest of the street has dissipated somewhat as you have arrived at a T-junction, a small alley sneaking southwards, hidden by the shade of some trees. A sturdy
legion of Parrians stands twenty-two in number in the centre of the location, facing west. The legion has no leader at present. A covert figure lurks about
nearby. His face is obscured. A magical rune stave stands here, an unseen force holding it in place.
----------------
You look to the north and sprint away.
Hellespont Square.
Consort Way.
Consort Way.
Consort Way.
At the gates of the mansion.
You stop just short of a closed door.
Before the Royal Mansion.
A glowing rune staff is the last thing to catch your attention.
The sky is dark, night covers Avalon. Standing now in the shelter of the royal mansion itself and up close to its facade you are able to make out the tiny
pattern-work etched all over the building's stone that from the outside is utterly invisible being completely lost in the seemingly uniform grey colour of the
place. Just behind you is the commanding row of pillars, eight or nine in number, that frame the view of the city to the south in to oblong strips, and in front
of you to the north, the inside of the palace courtyard is just visible through the entrance, a high archway that is guarded on either side by two
formidable-looking men. A small, ivy-covered milestone at your feet reads "Parrius". There are six Academic sages here. |
