No Plugins

Gday All,

No idea if this belongs in here or zMapper forum but..
After upgrading to zMud 7.20a and zMapper 1.30 Betta
zMapper is not loading up as a plugin in zMud anymore.
Anyone else having this problem?

Mark.

After installing the new version of zMapper, run it and upgrade your reg code for it. Once the new zMapper is running with a new license key, then the new zMUD should be able to load it.

Gday Zugg,

Yep already had done this, still no joy.
I'll do a re-install of both later and see if that fixes it
and let ya know how it goes ;)

Thanks,

Mark

Also make sure that you don't ever run the old version of zMapper. The way the zMapper plugin works is that zMapper is a Windows COM object. Running zMapper registers this COM object with Windows (and saves the path/folder zMapper is installed in). When you run zMUD, zMUD attempts to create the zMapper COM object and call one of the functions. If zMUD can't create the COM object or if the zMapper function doesn't return the correct value, then it's not loaded as a plugin.

If you run the old version of zMapper at *any* time, then Windows registers the *old* COM object in the old version and when the new zMUD calls this object, the function it needs won't exist.

It's possible that the new system doesn't work if zMapper is still in Trial mode, but I'll check into this.

I am having the same problem here. There aren't many things I haven't tried to get them talking again. When I installed zMud 7.20a my license for zMapper was expired. During the initial loading of zMud 7.20a, zMapper popped up a screen requesting me to re-license. After that though it wasn't active as a plugin anyway. I simply figured that the licensing systems weren't totally compatible since zMapper was still on eLicense. Since then the 1.30 version of zMapper was installed and runs happily. They still don't talk to each other properly. I will set up for a system reboot and post back soon.

Mine aren't talking to each other, also.

Just went though a reboot. I launched zMapper an opened up a map to make sure it was fully active. Then closed it. Launched zMud, opened my current work character and checked #MENU {Plugins|Install Plugins...} . zMapper doesn't show up, also #ECHO %zmap reports 0.

After a quick look around the registry it appears that the COM objects are not properly registered. In fact mine still lists as version 1.0 in the registry's TypeLib section. I am not sure just how reliable or helpful that is since MS built all that mess.

Well re-install did nothing here to help either :(
So I'll leave it in your hands and keep an eye on the board
for any updates.

All the best,

Mark
